Killing journalists is a war crime. Over the past year, the Israeli military has killed more than twice the number of journalists typically murdered worldwide each year. Journalists are targeted by the Israeli military for exposing its war crimes. Israel has blocked all access for journalists into Gaza since its invation started. Israel has banned the international news service Al Jazeera from working within Israel and has shut down its offices in the West Bank. These are severe violations of international law.
